Fairmont Turnberry Overview

The 300-acre Fairmont Turnberry Isle, is an expansive golf resort in the exclusive enclave of Aventura, halfway between South Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Two miles from Sunny Isles Beach, six miles from Bal Harbour Shops, and a half-mile from the Aventura Mall.

Colourful gardens, lush foliage, and bubbling fountains welcome leisure travellers to this Mediterranean-style resort. A grand marble entryway, sparkling chandeliers, and ornate works of art grace the lobby.

Fairmont Turnberry Rooms

The resort offers 392 guestrooms located in buildings connected by covered marble walkways. Room décor features Mediterranean terra-cotta floors and furnishings in soft tones. Spacious rooms have private, furnished balconies or patios with garden, golf course, tennis court, or pool views.

Marble bathrooms feature separate showers and small TVs; many have soaking tubs. Robes and slippers are provided. Rooms provide 37-inch LCD flatscreen TVs and offer high-speed Internet access (surcharge) and three dual-line telephones with voicemail.

Fairmont Turnberry Restaurants

The Veranda - A top Miami dining spot, the Veranda overlooks the promenade and pool gardens, offering a relaxing, rich setting accented with Oriental vases and fresh flowers. Fresh seafood is the specialty; breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. Jackets required in evenings.

The Veranda Bar - A warm, intimate piano bar with oak floors, soft leather, and overstuffed tapestry chairs and couches. Open mid-morning till late night.

The Grill - With a view of the golf courses, this casual bistro serves up grilled and rotisserie meats, poultry, and seafood. The open kitchen fills the restaurant with the aromas of Provincial dishes such as Skillet-Roasted Mussels with Chardonnay. Open mid-morning till late evening.

The Grill Bar - Guests watch their favourite sports while enjoying drinks, snacks, and light meals. Open mid-morning till late evening.

Fairmont Turnberry Facilities

The highlight of the resort is the two l8-hole championship golf courses and a driving range redesigned by Raymond Floyd. An outdoor splash pool with lounge chairs and a sundeck is located in the resort's courtyard. Tennis players can choose from the resort's 19 multi-surfaced courts, including clay and hard courts a short shuttle ride away. There is also a three mile scenic jogging path.

Willow Stream Spa is a 25,000-square-foot, three-story facility with 26 treatment rooms. The fitness center has aerobics, Pilates, and aquatic exercise programs (surcharge). Cardio equipment, stair machines, treadmills, stationary bikes, and free weights are available.

The resort's private Ocean Club, located on the white-sand beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, is a mile from the hotel via complimentary shuttle. A seaside café, outdoor bar and grill, private cabanas (surcharge), and a freshwater pool are offered at the Ocean Club. Watercraft rentals include waverunners, Hobie Cats, parasails, and banana boats. Deep-sea fishing, sailing, Intracoastal Waterway tours, snorkelling, and scuba diving can be arranged at the 117-slip Turnberry Isle Marina, a mile away via complimentary shuttle.

The Conference Centre at Turnberry Isle offers 40,000 square feet of meeting and function space, including a grand ballroom. The business centre provides a range of services, including copying, faxing, computer rental, and shipping; fees may apply. Wedding services are available.
